OLIVARES Y VIÑEDOS SAN NICOLÁS S.A. is a key player in Argentine olive growing. With an olive grove of 1,200 hectares, this agroindustrial complex has a processing plant and a plant for extracting organic first pressing virgin olive oil. Every year, it harvests an average of 6 million kilos of olives of numerous varieties, of which the main one is the "GIANT MANZANILLA REAL", a large fleshy fruit that is highly appreciated in the world market. The "SAN NICOLÁS" harvest accounts for approximately 9% of the total national production. In Argentina there is a total of 37,000 hectares planted with olive trees. San Nicolás is a 50 year old olive grove that has the privilege of being the first one in the country to produce ORGANIC VIRGIN OLIVE OIL AND ORGANIC OLIVES. A plantation of this new era introduces its "SAN NICOLÁS" products with the purpose of improving quality of life while caring for our planet. |

Several years ago OLIVARES Y VIÑEDOS SAN NICOLÁS S.A. proudly launched its new line of "SAN NICOLÁS" Organic Virgin Olive Oil and Organic Olives into the Argentine market. Manufactured in their own grove located at San Nicolás, Cruz del Eje, Province of Córdoba (covering 1,200 hectares with more than one hundred thousands trees) these exceptionally high quality products are packaged at the production site. Since October 1994, SAN NICOLÁS have expanded distribution to other countries around the world including U.S.A., Canada and E.E.C. These special products, which are certified by the International Agricultural Organization (Organización Internacional Agropecuaria)* are at the forefront of international trends. Not only should they be considered as an ornament on dishes but also as food whose nutrients benefit our body. As it is of vegetable origin this fat-rich fruit does not contain cholesterol and, like olive oil, provides oleic acid, a monosaturated fatty acid that is beneficial to the arteries. Although its fat content has a higher energy value than other fruits, it is small and does not provide a significant amount of calories per unit: just 5.1 calories per green olive in brine of the "SAN NICOLÁS" Giant Manzanilla variety.
